A Non-tourist Guide to Touring Boston

With over 30 colleges and universities located in the city, Boston is considered one of the best college towns. However, most students don’t know of all the great deals and have only scratched the surface of all the cool places to check out in the city. So without getting too “tourist-y” we’ve created this list of awesome places you should visit and they all have student discounts if you bring your valid college ID!

Brattle Theater

If you’re interested in film or film making, the Brattle Theater screens great classics, foreign or art-house films. Take a look at their calendar and plan to see that movie everyone’s been talking about! Don’t forget your student ID to get a discount at the box office.

Museum of Fine Arts

The Museum of Fine Arts gives free entrance to students who bring their ID from participating universities. Check to make sure your school is on the list and enjoy a day at the museum without paying a dime!

New England Aquarium

Spend the afternoon with fish, sharks and penguins at the New England Aquarium right on the water. Explore Boston Harbor or enjoy a film at the IMAX theater all for a discounted price if you bring your college ID.

Skywalk Observatory

Enjoy an amazing view of the city for just $15 at the Prudential Center Skywalk Observatory with a valid student ID. Not a fan of heights? Shop around the Prudential Center and enjoy these other student deals at different clothing and tech stores.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Exhibiting both historical and contemporary pieces, the Gardner provides a great opportunity to spend the afternoon observing, learning and getting inspired by all kinds of art pieces. Bring your student ID and spend just $5 to experience unforgettable artwork.

The Freedom Trail

If history is your thing, you can walk a completely self guided tour of Boston with the Freedom Trail, or book a public tour for just $10. This is a great way to see the city in a new light and learn all about the history of Boston by seeing it all first hand.

ICA

The Institute of Contemporary Arts is full of eye-popping exhibitions and performances. Student tickets are only $10, this is a fun excuse to visit the Seaport District of Boston and look at some beautiful pieces of work.
